Vertiv Liebert EXL S1 is a monolithic, transformer-free UPS platform designed for medium-to-large data centres and other high-capacity mission-critical environments.
Current Vertiv technical documentation covers 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1250 kVA/kW configurations, providing a broad capacity range within the same EXL S1 platform.
A full-IGBT three-level power architecture is used for both the rectifier and inverter. This supports high operating efficiency together with strong input characteristics, including input power factor of at least 0.99 and input current distortion of 3% or less under published conditions.
In conventional double-conversion operation, efficiency reaches up to 97%. Dynamic Online Mode provides efficiency up to 99%, while ECO Mode operates above 99% efficiency under applicable operating conditions.
The output architecture supports power factor up to unity and a broad range of leading and lagging loads, making the UPS suitable for modern digital infrastructure and other compatible critical loads.
Liebert EXL S1 supports both centralised and distributed parallel configurations. Up to eight UPS units can operate in parallel, allowing system architecture to expand according to capacity and redundancy requirements.
Intelligent Paralleling can place excess units into standby according to load demand, helping maintain higher operating efficiency at partial system load.
Current EXL S1 documentation also supports both conventional VRLA and compatible lithium-ion battery technologies, providing flexibility across different critical-power energy-storage architectures.
